Unsound Records was formed in Brooklyn, NY in the fall of 2004 with the goal of seeking out and making available the musical endeavors of high-talent, exceptionally creative groups and artists. It is our mission to enable through all means at our disposal the dissemination of this expression while cultivating an environment of community around the label in the hopes that this will encourage further growth and a spirit of collaboration. This is in a myriad of respects a labor of love.

In early 2006, we decided to cut our overhead and move. We kicked our day-jobs, picked up everything we could, and hit the road. We planted ourselves in the creative hotbed of Portland, OR, from where we now have the opportunity, the space, the time and the vision to compile a roster we can stand behind with full pride, vigor and rigor.

We're looking forward to many years of solid production and growth, and we hope you'll be right here with us. As your hairs grow gray and your eyes begin to dim, leaving only the pounce of musical monstrosity and the gross majesty of human understanding, we wish you only the best of everything.
