Creatures of the Earth

Newcomers The Pages deliver an invigorating mix of skiffle-funk sounds. Formed serendipitously and unscrupulously—the result being instrumental bravado coupled with well-forged songs that seem to materialize one after the other—The Pages have been honing and developing their sound in NYC for the past two years.

Grant Orsborn [The Arthurs (Dirigeable)], Gabe Blair, Greg DeGroat, and Justin Dake make up the quartet. Picture a village of contented songwriters invaded by a nomadic band of guitar-weird interlopers. A few generations later the two groups have at last congealed into one society. They throw a sixties rock-n-roll dance party. DeGroat’s bass and Dake’s Drums weave an off-road landscape quilted together with the vocal harmonies of Orsborn and Blair. The occasional wily raw guitar solo betrays nomadic roots.

"With shades of country, folk, psychedelia, funk and quick random solos that space out just enough before returning to the task at hand, The Pages are definitely on my list of bands that I will be recommending and raving about..."
